#MakingWaves: We Have Something They Don’t Have

11/09/2018 - 11:26am

The power of many. That’s what we saw on Election Day.

More people turned out to vote on Tuesday than any midterm election since 1966.

We saw so many candidates and ballot questions win (or almost win!) because they presented a clear and visionary alternative. People everywhere are hungry for fresh voices and real solutions. They are fired up to challenge the status quo and transform this country.

But we know that progress isn’t linear and that momentum can be fleeting. If we want to see a real wave of system change, we need an agenda that says what we are for, not just what we are against.

Will you help NEC build that visionary agenda by making a gift today?

At NEC, we believe in the power of organizing and, like many of you, are longing for large scale solutions that get to the root causes of our problems.

Right now our members are hard at work on a New Economy Policy Platform. This platform will showcase impactful ideas and models for changing this economy. With your support, we’re going to get this platform in the hands of newly elected officials, future candidates, and groups creating new possibilities across the country.

This is new terrain for us and we can’t do it without your help. Give $25 or more right now to help make NEC’s policy platform a reality.

As someone that follows NEC, you know how hard this work is. We’re up against powerful regressive forces that threaten peoples’ lives and livelihoods.

But we have something they don’t have: each other. We’re over halfway to our goal of $100,000 in our #MakingWaves fundraising campaign, and over 90% of our contributions have been from individuals!

This campaign is not only sustaining our network, but helping to shape it, because a collectively funded network is a collectively led network. There is a fierce power in many small donations. The power of many.

Let's be for the many, funded by the many. Make a gift today.

With gratitude and hope,

Lex Barlowe
