We’re less than two months out from CommonBound 2016, happening July 8-10 in Buffalo, NY. As you can imagine, pulling together a conference for over 700 people involves more than a little midnight oil. Our staff and coordinators have been working hard to pull together more than 100 workshops, a slate of exciting side events, site tours of Buffalo’s New Economy, a groundbreaking line-up of keynote and plenary speakers and more. We’ll have exciting announcements on all those pieces in the coming days and weeks.
But, for now, we wanted to make sure we made time for the most important piece of CommonBound: YOU!
That’s right. A 700-person conference doesn’t happen without…well…700 people. And we want you to be one of them. So it’s in that vein that we want to make registering for CommonBound as easy as possible. You might already know that your sliding scale ticket gets up-front access to all of our keynote addresses, workshops and side events.
This fall, we worked with YES! Magazine and artists Favianna Rodriguez and Jennifer Luxton to tell a visual story of the New Economy movement. Stock images of farmer’s markets and wind turbines weren’t cutting it: we wanted images that captured how vibrant and transformative this work really is.
While no one picture–or two–can tell the whole story of the New Economy, we think these posters do a pretty damn good job. Favianna and Jennifer’s prints illustrate the kinds of values and visions driving thinkers and organizers on the ground every day–including the ones who’ve been helping to build CommonBound from Day 1:
Here’s how it works: register by June 1st at any price in our sliding scale range, and we’ll hand you the two beautiful posters above when you show up in Buffalo.
Your CommonBound ticket now gets you 16 workshop tracks, 14 network gatherings, 80-plus workshops, a weekend in the heart of Buffalo’s New Economy and–now–two beautiful posters. What are you waiting for? Whatever it is, don’t wait until after June 1st.
